Bradley Chloride

BradleyChloridePromoLorez

Bradley plays with emotions.
He manipulates them to his own ends, mixing pleasure with regret, Inspiration with fear and joy with disappointment.
He mixes and blends emotional cocktails looking for something unexpected and interesting. he sometimes gets the blues, but only in bottled form.

Erasmus Kipple

KipplePromoLorez

Where there’s muck there’s Brass.. Or so the saying goes. It proved true for Erasmus. Mistaken for dead and ejected to a scrap heap, he slowly recovered and began to rebuild his broken body from that lay around him. Exchanging his steam drive for a clockwork one allowed him to go without fuel and cut another tie to his dependence on society. He dropped out for a while, scavenging the heaps, organising and cataloguing. Then he returned with a new and successful venture. Forging an innovative line in reclaimation yards which became a new trend among the middle classes.

Oddfellows

Sculpture_17

The crowning glory of the current “Oddfellows” show at Stranger Factory is the collaborative sculpture between myself and the astonishingly talented Chet Zar. A tower of robot and monster goodness. Who controls who in this mash up of metal, bone and flesh. The piece took many months to complete with parts going back and forth across continents. The final result is a probably never to be repeated, surreal bio-mechanical wonder. The whole thing stands some 21″ tall in case you were wondering just how big it was.

It was a real pleasure and privilege to be able to work with Chet on this project. The results are even better than I could have hoped for.

Tiberius Shutterbug

ShutterburgLorez

The new science of Photography heralds a fresh artistic era.
One in which the everyman can create images as beautiful as any trained painter.
Why hire a professional when with the simple application of basic equipment anyone can take their own pictures.
A popular idea not shared by Tiberius.
Anyone may be able to click off a few snap shots. But it takes great skill to make truly great images.
Just dont get him started on the advantages of photographs over paintings.

Congratulations you have gained immortality.

A commission piece recently delivered to one of my largest collectors.. Two years in the works and pushing new directions and techniques.

1. Remove strap and leads from the storage drawer.
2. Place electrodes against forehead and tighten strap.
3. Attach bulldog clips to terminals in the jaw.
4. Set over-ride timer to desired duration.
5. Crank the main handle to build electrical charge.
6. Close the main switch to engage the electrical flow.
7. Increase the electrical voltage using dial.
8. Wait until your Asphyx manifests within the tube.
9. Shut off charge to electrodes using the main switch.
10. Transfer the Asphyx to a long term containment device.
11. Congratulations you have gained immortality.

Lifesized Resin human skull, Vintage brass lamp parts, Epoxy resin, MDF, Lead, Acrylic, Polyester resin, copper, brass, rubber, glass, vinyl, ABS, vintage leather strapping, dynamo driven lighting system, Found objects.
14″ tall.

The Asphyx appears in Greek myths as an angel of death like deity who appears at the moment of demise to seek release from it’s eternal pain by possesing the dying soul of its victim.
This piece is directly drawing on the itteration of the Asphyx as seen in the 1972 Britich Lions horror film starring Robert Stephens and Robert Powell and imagines what may have come to pass with the success of Sir Hugo Cunningham’s experiments in trapping an Asphyx, if the events of the film had not taken such a terrible turn for the worst.

The crank handle on the side of the Engine uses a dynamo to create a pulsing glow within the trapped Asphyx..
